Manama, the capital and largest city of the island of Bahrain, has a population of 200,000 people. It has long been a key trading centre in the Persian Gulf area and is home to diverse people. After periods of Portuguese and Persian control as well as invasions from the ruling dynasties from Saudi Arabia and Oman the islands established itself as an independent nation in 1971 after a period of British dominance.
Not one of the most memorable places I have ever visited, and I therefore took only a few photos!
